Joomla development: components, modules and integrations
We build Joomla components, modules and plugins built around your logic, upgrade older Joomla 3 or 4 websites to a current version and connect the website to your CRM, accounting software or payments. We can also add AI to Joomla: a chatbot or search by meaning. We have worked with Joomla for 18 years and test every change on a copy first. Small jobs cost €30/hour; for larger work we quote a fixed price after a free assessment.

A good fit if
Your website runs on Joomla and needs a feature no ready-made extension offers: a calculator, a conditional form, a member area or data import.
Your website still runs on Joomla 3 or 4, and its extensions and PHP version are no longer updated.
Staff copy enquiries or bookings from the website into a CRM or accounting software by hand.
An extension behind an important feature is no longer supported by its vendor and needs replacing or rewriting.
You want to add an AI feature without changing your Joomla system or content.
Not the best fit if
A reliable ready-made extension already does what you need. We will choose and configure it – no programming required.
Your main goal is a new design or an entirely new website. Our focus is features, integrations and the technical side.
The project involves a lot of complex logic and data, and Joomla is not a must for you. A Laravel platform is usually a better fit.
We have worked with Joomla for 18 years, and the previous version of Saitai.lt also ran on Joomla. We have hands-on experience with AI chatbots and search over a vector database. We do not publish client names for AI projects.
Included
What you get
System review
We check the Joomla, PHP and extension versions, template overrides and which extensions will be compatible with a newer version.
Components, modules and plugins
We write your logic following Joomla’s architecture – as a separate extension that keeps working after core or template updates.
Version upgrade
We move step by step to Joomla 5 or 6, replace or rewrite incompatible extensions, and keep your content, menus and URLs.
Integrations
Forms and bookings flow into your CRM or accounting software, and data from your systems reaches the website via an API or import files.
AI features
A chatbot based on your website content or search by meaning. Visitors are told they are talking to AI.
Code, guide and 12-month warranty
We hand over the extension code and a short guide. Programming errors are fixed free of charge for 12 months.
Price
How much does Joomla development cost?
Small Joomla jobs cost €30/hour – for example, a template override, module set-up or a form change. For components, version upgrades and integrations we quote a fixed price after a free system review: an accounting software integration costs from €490, a payment integration from €150 and an AI feature from €990.
Prices include all taxes – no VAT is charged (we are not VAT-registered). The final price depends on the project: we put it and the timeline in the contract before work starts.
What the price depends on
Which Joomla version you are upgrading from and how many extensions need replacing.
Whether the template is compatible with the newer version.
How much logic the new component or module contains.
Which systems data is exchanged with and whether they have an API.
How much content, how many languages and user groups the website has.
Additional costs
Paid extension licences – at vendor prices, if needed.
Maintenance (updates, backups, monitoring) – from €29/month.
Hosting – from €60/year, if the newer version needs a different server.
Timeline
How long does Joomla development take?
We agree the timeline for small changes before starting; for a component, version upgrade or integration we state it in our quote and put it in the contract.

Examples
Typical scenarios
These examples show how this works in practice. They are not specific client cases.
Joomla 3 website with unsupported extensions
Situation
For example, a company website runs on Joomla 3 and the hosting provider is about to switch off an old PHP version.
Solution
We review the extensions, replace or rewrite incompatible ones and upgrade to a current Joomla version step by step on a copy, keeping content and URLs.
Outcome
A website that receives security updates, with the same content and URLs.
Component with data import
Situation
For example, an organisation publishes a list of members or properties online and updates it from Excel by hand every month.
Solution
We build a Joomla component with search and filters, fed from an Excel file or your own system.
Outcome
An up-to-date list without copying and easy search for visitors.
Chatbot on a Joomla website
Situation
For example, a website has many pages of service terms, yet customers keep phoning with the same questions.
Solution
We connect an AI chatbot to Joomla that answers from the website content and passes unclear questions to staff.
Outcome
Answers at any time and fewer repeat calls.
With AI
What AI can add
We connect AI features to Joomla as a separate extension – your system and content stay the same.
Form and booking data flows into your CRM or reports without manual work.
Send us your Joomla website address – we’ll review it for free
Tell us which feature you need or which Joomla version you run. Within 1 working day we will tell you what we suggest, what it would cost and how long it would take.
Yes, but not in one click. Joomla 3 is first upgraded to 4, then step by step to 5 and 6. The old template and some extensions do not work in newer versions, so we replace or rewrite them while keeping content, menus and URLs. All work is done on a copy.
Can you build a Joomla module for our needs?
Yes. We build components, modules and plugins – for example, a price calculator, a conditional form, data import or a CRM link. We first check whether a reliable ready-made extension exists, as it is sometimes cheaper.
Is Joomla still worth using?
Yes, if it suits you: Joomla is actively developed, and multilingual support and detailed user permissions are built into the core. If complex logic and data matter most for your project, we also discuss a Laravel platform.
Can Joomla be linked to accounting software or a CRM?
Yes, if the software has an API or import and export. An accounting software integration costs from €490. If your team already uses n8n, Make or Zapier, we integrate through them; otherwise we automate through programming.
What if we have no Joomla administrator access?
If you can access the hosting control panel, we restore administrator access through the database. If not, we help you contact the hosting provider – you will need to show that the domain and website belong to you.
Will we own the code?
Yes. Once paid in full, we hand over the code of the extensions we wrote. Paid third-party extension licences are subject to their vendors’ terms.
