Custom software development in Lithuania
Software development services cover building custom web-based systems, website features, modules and integrations when an off-the-shelf template or plugin isn't enough. Saitai.lt develops in PHP using the Laravel framework, and also builds WordPress and Joomla modules and API integrations. We've been building websites and systems since 1998, and we set the price after assessing the task. Timelines range from a few working days (fixes) to 4–12 weeks (custom systems).

Who it’s for
- Your website needs a feature that no plugin offers: a price calculator, bookings that follow your rules or an order configurator.
- A WordPress or Joomla module works almost the way you need, but it has to be adapted or fixed.
- You need to connect your website, online store, CRM or accounting software so that data doesn't have to be retyped by hand.
- Your staff need an internal system for managing orders, sites or documents – with login and access permissions.
- Your customers or partners need a portal where they can see their orders, invoices or documents.
- You've taken over a website or system built by another developer, and it needs fixing or extending.
When it’s not the right fit
- The task can be solved by an off-the-shelf plugin or a subscription service (SaaS). In that case, we'll tell you which solution to choose, and no development is needed.
- You're looking for a developer to work full-time at your company. We work on projects under contract, not as your employees.
- You need a desktop application or other software that doesn't run in a browser. Our field is web systems and mobile apps.
- The requirements aren't clear yet, but you need the result tomorrow. It's worth writing up the task first – we can help you do that in a free consultation.

What you get
A task specification before any coding
We set out the features, screens, permissions and what isn't included in a document. We use it to estimate the price and timeline, and later to check the result.
WordPress and Joomla modules
Custom WordPress and WooCommerce plugins, and Joomla and VirtueMart extensions: a new feature, an integration or a fix to an existing module, without changing the system's core.
Custom web systems
Internal systems, customer portals and admin panels built with the Laravel framework – with login, roles and reports.
APIs and data exchange
REST and SOAP APIs, XML and CSV exchange, scheduled syncing and notifications when a data transfer fails.
Taking over existing code
We review another developer's code, write up what we find, and only then suggest what to fix, extend or rewrite.
Test environment
We deploy changes to a test environment first, so you can try them out without putting your live website or system at risk.
Version control
We keep the code in a Git repository, so every change is visible and an earlier version can be restored if needed.
12-month warranty
For 12 months after launch, we fix bugs in the code we've written free of charge.
Price
How much do software development services cost?
Price
On request
We set the price of development work after a free assessment of the task: we describe the features, calculate the scope of work and give you a fixed price and timeline. These go into the contract, so the price doesn't change unless the task does. A large project can be split into stages, each assessed separately.
Prices include all taxes – no VAT is added (we are not VAT-registered). The final price depends on the project: we put it and the timeline in the contract before work starts.
What the price depends on
- The number and complexity of features: how many screens, rules, calculations and user roles are needed.
- Whether a new system is being built or existing code changed – someone else's code has to be understood first.
- How many external systems need connecting, and whether they have a documented API.
- Whether data needs moving from an old system or spreadsheets.
- What security, speed and load requirements apply, for example hundreds of users at once.
- Whether design and a prototype are needed, or we're working from a mock-up you provide.
Additional costs
- Custom systems are hosted separately from websites: a virtual private server (VPS), with hosting and maintenance, from €29/month, sized to the scope of the system. We can also install the system on your own server.
- Fees for external services (paid APIs, licences, SMS or email delivery services) – at their providers' rates.
- New modules after launch – under a separate quote, agreed in writing.
Timeline
How long does development work take?
A fix to an existing module or a new feature on a website usually takes 2–10 working days, a custom module 1–4 weeks, an integration from 2 working days (payments, shipping) to 6 weeks (custom API integration), and a custom system 4–12 weeks. We launch larger systems in stages, so you can start using the first part sooner.
| Work | Example | Timeline |
|---|---|---|
| A fix or a small feature | a module bug, an extra form field, a new export format | 2–10 working days |
| Module or plugin | price calculator, bookings, reporting module | 1–4 weeks |
| Integration | payments, shipping, accounting software, supplier XML | 2 working days – 6 weeks |
| CRM or accounting software | customers, orders, tasks, reports | 2–8 weeks |
| Custom system or portal | customer portal, order management, several integrations | 4–12 weeks, in stages |
Process
How it works

We describe the features, screens, permissions and integrations, as well as what isn't included in the first version. The price and timeline go into the contract, and we start once we receive the 50% deposit.
- Prototype3–5 working days
We show you the main screens or the data structure before development and adjust them based on your feedback.
- Development in stages1–10 weeks
Every 1–2 weeks, we show you what's been done, and you try out an interim version in a test environment.
- Testing2–5 working days
We test the features, permissions, integrations and how everything works on different devices, and fix bugs before launch.
- Launch and training1–2 working days
We move the system to the live server, hand over access details and a user guide, and show you how to use it.
- Warranty and further development12 months
For 12 months, we fix bugs free of charge, and we assess new features separately.
Comparison
Off-the-shelf plugin, SaaS or custom development?
| Criterion | Off-the-shelf plugin or module | Subscription software (SaaS) | Custom development (Saitai.lt) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Upfront cost | free or an annual licence | €0 + your time to set it up | after assessing the task, fixed in the contract |
| Ongoing costs | licence renewal | a subscription, often per user | hosting and, if needed, maintenance |
| Fit with your process | as far as the settings allow | as far as the vendor allows | follows your rules and process |
| Time to get started | a few hours or days | a few days | from a few days to a few months |
| Dependence on the vendor | updates are released by the developer | data and features sit on the vendor's platform | CRM code is handed over to you, code for other systems as per the contract |
| Best for | a standard feature | a standard process, when a monthly fee is acceptable | non-standard logic and integrations |
Examples
Typical projects
A price calculator on a manufacturer's website
- Situation
- For example, a window and door manufacturer calculates customer prices in an Excel spreadsheet based on dimensions, materials and accessories, and receives enquiries from its website with no details at all.
- Solution
- A WordPress plugin with a calculator: the customer chooses the options and sees an estimated price, and the enquiry with all the selections goes to the sales manager by email. The administrator updates the price table themselves.
- Result
- More accurate enquiries, fewer calculations by hand and prices that can be changed without a developer.
A customer portal for a service company
- Situation
- For example, an equipment maintenance company emails invoices, completion certificates and inspection schedules to its customers, who keep asking for them to be sent again.
- Solution
- A Laravel portal where customers log in and see their equipment, completion certificates, invoices and upcoming inspections; the data comes from the company's system.
- Result
- Fewer repeat requests, and documents that customers can find themselves.
An inherited Joomla module
- Situation
- For example, a Joomla module built by another developer a few years ago doesn't work with a newer PHP version, so the website can't be updated.
- Solution
- We review the module's code and adapt it to the new PHP and Joomla versions or, if that's simpler, rewrite the module while keeping the data.
- Result
- A website that can be updated, and a module that can be maintained going forward.
