On-page and technical optimisation for search engines
We fix your website's pages and the code behind them so that Google and AI search tools can reach them, understand them and show them for the right queries. On-page optimisation covers the query-to-page plan, site structure, title tags, meta descriptions, headings, content and internal links. Technical optimisation covers indexing, robots.txt, the XML sitemap, canonical URLs, redirects, duplicate pages, language versions and Schema.org markup. The Saitai.lt team includes developers, so we fix the issues ourselves – in the template, the CMS settings or on the server – rather than just listing them in a report. One-off work costs from €119; ongoing optimisation costs from €119/month.

A good fit if
Google Search Console reports lots of pages that are not indexed, and it's unclear which of them matter and why they are left out.
Traffic from search dropped after your website moved to a new system, and some old URLs now return 404 errors.
The same content is available at several URLs – with and without www, with parameters, via a category and via a tag.
For your key service queries, Google shows the wrong page, or several pages compete for the same query.
Page titles and descriptions in search results are duplicated, truncated or don't match the content.
Your website has several language versions, but search shows the page in the wrong language.
You have your own developer, but they need a precise brief: what to fix and how to check the result.
Not the best fit if
You only want a higher PageSpeed Insights score. The score is not the goal: we measure speed only insofar as it affects visitors and indexing.
Your CMS is no longer supported and the template is so old that fixing it costs more than reprogramming it. In that case we add the technical requirements to the brief for the new website.
You have a one-page website and only a handful of companies compete in your field. Usually fixing the title, description and copy is enough – €30/hour.
Included
What you get
Indexing and crawling
We compare the Search Console indexing reports with a crawl of your website: which important pages are missing from the index, which unnecessary ones are in it, and why.
robots.txt and XML sitemap
We check that robots.txt doesn't block important pages, styles, scripts or the sitemap itself. The sitemap keeps only working canonical URLs, and we submit it to Google Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools.
Duplicates, redirects and 404 errors
We tidy up www and non-www URLs and filter, sorting and pagination parameters, so each piece of content has one canonical URL. Changed URLs get 301 redirects, and redirect chains are removed.
Query-to-page plan
We gather queries from Search Console, Google suggestions and competitor pages, group them by intent and build a 'query – page' map so that no two pages compete for the same query.
Titles, descriptions and headings
Each page gets a unique title of up to 60 characters, a meta description of up to 155 characters, one H1 and logical H2–H3 sections. If your CMS won't let you edit them, we adjust the template or module.
Content and internal links
The first paragraph gives a short answer to the main question, followed by price, timescales, process and FAQs. Related services, categories and articles are linked with descriptive anchor text.
Structured data in templates
We add Schema.org markup (JSON-LD) – service, FAQ, article, breadcrumbs, organisation – to the templates, so it appears on every page of that type and matches what visitors see. This helps both Google and AI search tools.
HTTPS, language versions and images
We check the SSL certificate and the redirect to https, and set up hreflang links between language versions on multilingual sites. Images get clear file names, alt text and a suitable size.
Price
How much does on-page and technical optimisation cost?
One-off work costs from €119: that covers fixing the key technical issues and main pages of a small business website. We give an exact price once we've seen the number of pages, the platform and the scale of the issues. If the technical health and pages of your website need checking and improving on an ongoing basis, ongoing optimisation costs from €119/month. Small fixes are charged at €30/hour.
Prices include all taxes – no VAT is charged (we are not VAT-registered). For one-off work, we state the price and timescale in our quote before we start.
What the price depends on
The number of pages and page templates: services, categories, products, articles.
Your CMS and its version: WordPress, Joomla, WooCommerce or a custom system, and whether it is still supported.
How many duplicates, non-indexed pages and broken URLs have built up.
Whether the existing copy just needs adding to or has to be rewritten.
The number of language versions.
Whether we have server access or changes need to be agreed with your hosting provider.
Additional costs
New or rewritten copy – from €29/page.
Larger template or system changes – €30/hour or under a separate quote.
Paid plugin licences – only with your consent, at the vendor's prices.
Timeline
How long does optimisation take?
On a business website, we fix the key technical issues, titles and headings in the first 1–2 weeks; on large online stores with filters, within 2–4 weeks. Expanding the content and internal links takes another 2–3 months. Google recrawls pages within days or weeks, while changes in rankings and clicks usually show after 3–6 months.

Process
How we work
Free initial assessment1–2 working days
We crawl your key pages, point out the issues that hold back search the most and tell you where to start – technical fixes or page content.
Access and backup1 working day
Before changing anything, we take a backup so any change can be rolled back. Riskier changes are tested on a copy of the site first.
Crawl and query plan2–3 working days
We compare the crawl with Search Console data and draw up a fix list and a 'query – page' map. We agree the plan with you.
Fixes in code and content1–2 weeks
First we fix whatever stops important pages from being indexed, then duplicates, structured data, titles, headings and copy. We do it ourselves or write a precise brief for your developer.
Checks after the fixes1–3 working days
We inspect the changed URLs in Search Console, resubmit the sitemap and test the key pages, forms and basket.
Monitoring and the next roundmonthly
With ongoing optimisation we check technical health every month – errors often return after CMS and plugin updates – and keep improving pages that get impressions but few clicks.

Examples
Typical scenarios
The first example is a check of our own website; the others illustrate how it works and are not specific client cases.
Our own website, Saitai.lt
Situation
We checked the previous version of Saitai.lt the same way we check clients' websites. It turned out that robots.txt blocked the sitemap URL, and the home page LCP on mobile was 3.6 s.
Solution
We fixed robots.txt so search crawlers could reach the sitemap, kept only the CSS that was needed, served images as WebP and set up browser caching.
Outcome
By our measurements (7 October 2026), the home page LCP on mobile fell from 3.6 to 2.3 s, and all 413 URLs responded without errors, each with a single H1.
Two pages compete for the same service
Situation
For example, a construction company has a 'Roofing' service page and an article on roofing costs. For the commercial query, Google keeps swapping between the two, and neither climbs higher.
Solution
A query-to-page map: the commercial query stays with the service page, while the article answers the informational question and links to the service. Both pages' titles and headings are rewritten for their own queries.
Outcome
A clear page for each query, and the ability to track in Search Console how impressions for both pages change.
The wrong language version shows up
Situation
For example, a company website has Lithuanian and English versions, but foreign customers see the Lithuanian page in search, and some English pages are not indexed.
Solution
hreflang links between versions in the template, a canonical URL in each language, and pages in all languages in the sitemap.
Outcome
Pages in each language get indexed and shown to users of that language.
Check whether Google can see your important pages
Send us your website address and a few services you want to sell through search. Within 1–2 working days we'll point out the main technical issues and the pages missing key information.
What's the difference between on-page and technical optimisation?
Technical optimisation makes sure search engines can reach, crawl and index your website: robots.txt, sitemap, canonical URLs, redirects, HTTPS, structured data. On-page optimisation makes each page clearly answer its own query: titles, descriptions, headings, copy and internal links. The two are usually done together.
Why isn't a page indexed even though it's in the sitemap?
A sitemap only tells Google that a page exists; it doesn't oblige Google to index it. The most common reasons: the page is marked noindex, its canonical URL points to another page, it is too similar to another page, or it has too little useful content. We fix the first two in the code and the last two in the content.
Do all the texts on the website need rewriting?
Usually not. We start with your key service pages and the pages that already get impressions but few clicks. Good copy stays; we only add the missing answers – price, timescales, process.
Will changing URLs cost us our rankings?
We only change URLs when the benefit is clear, and every old URL gets a 301 redirect to the new one. We update internal links to point straight to the new URL and submit the updated sitemap to Google Search Console.
Can technical changes break the website?
We take a backup before making changes and test riskier ones on a copy of the site first. After the fixes we check the key pages, forms and basket, and make sure errors haven't increased in Search Console.
Do you need server access?
Not always. Most of the work is done in your CMS and Google Search Console. Server access is needed for redirects in the .htaccess file or for HTTPS settings. If another company manages your server, we write a precise brief for them.
Does optimisation help visibility in AI search?
Yes – it's the foundation. Indexable pages, a clear structure, short answers in the opening paragraphs and structured data also help AI search tools such as ChatGPT or Perplexity understand a page. We monitor how your site appears in AI answers as part of GEO optimisation – from €349/month. Nobody can guarantee a place in AI answers.
Do you work on websites programmed by another company?
Yes. We work with WordPress, WooCommerce, Joomla and custom Laravel systems, provided we get admin access. Google Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools accounts are set up in your company's name, so the data stays with you.
When your pages need new copy and articles – from €29/page.
