Technical SEO
Technical SEO (technical search engine optimisation) means setting up your website so that Google can reach, crawl and index it quickly: robots.txt, the XML sitemap, canonical URLs, redirects, duplicate pages, structured data and loading speed. The Saitai.lt team includes developers, so we fix the errors ourselves. Technical SEO is included in our monthly SEO plans from €199/month, and a one-off job costs from €120 (depending on the website and the number of pages).

- Where we work
- remotely, all over Lithuania; meetings in Vilnius by appointment, arranged by phone
Who it’s for
- Google Search Console shows lots of non-indexed pages, and it's unclear which of them matter and why they aren't getting into the index.
- After a website redesign or migration, visitors from search have dropped, and some old URLs return a 404 error.
- The same content is available at several URLs: with and without "www", with parameters, via a category and via a tag.
- The website loads slowly on mobile, and PageSpeed Insights shows poor Core Web Vitals.
- The website has several language versions, but search shows the page in the wrong language.
- You have your own developer, but they need an SEO specialist to tell them exactly what to fix and how to check the result.
When it’s not the right fit
- The website is indexed properly and is fast, and the problem is that pages rank low. Then on-page SEO is more useful: keywords, content and structure.
- The website's platform is no longer supported, and the template is so old that fixing it would cost more than a rebuild. Then we write the technical SEO requirements into the website redesign brief.
- You just want a better PageSpeed Insights score. The score isn't the goal: we fix what slows down real visitors and stops pages from being indexed.
Included
What you get
Indexing and crawling
We cross-check the Search Console indexing reports against a crawl of the website: which important pages aren't getting into the index, which unnecessary ones are, and why.
robots.txt and the XML sitemap
We check that robots.txt isn't blocking important pages, stylesheets, scripts or the sitemap itself. We keep only working canonical URLs in the sitemap and submit it to Google Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools.
Duplicate pages and canonical URLs
We sort out URLs with and without "www", with and without a trailing slash, and filter, sorting and pagination parameters. One canonical URL for each piece of content.
Redirects and 404 errors
We find broken links, redirect chains and pages that return errors. We set up 301 redirects for changed URLs – especially important after a website migration or redesign.
Speed and Core Web Vitals
We measure LCP, INP and CLS on mobile and find what slows the page down most: images, fonts, scripts or server response. We remove the biggest bottlenecks, while in-depth speed work is a separate website speed optimisation service.
Structured data
We check the Schema.org markup (JSON-LD) for errors and duplicate blocks, and whether the data matches the page. We fix it in the templates, so the markup appears automatically on every page of that type.
HTTPS and language versions
We check the SSL certificate, the http-to-https redirect and mixed content. For multilingual websites, we set up language links (hreflang) so that every visitor sees the page in their own language in search.
Fixes and verification
We fix the errors ourselves – in the template, the settings or on the server – and afterwards check that Google sees the fixes: we inspect the URLs in Search Console and monitor the indexing reports.
Price
How much does technical SEO cost?
Price from
€120
Technical SEO is included in all monthly SEO plans: in the Start plan (€199/month), we carry out an initial technical audit and fixes, and in the Business (€349/month) and Premium (from €649/month) plans, we check and fix the technical condition every month. A one-off technical SEO job costs from €120 – the price depends on the website and the number of pages. If you already have a list of errors, we make minor fixes at €30 per hour, and to identify the errors, an SEO audit is the right fit – from €49.
Prices include all taxes – no VAT is added (we are not VAT-registered). The minimum monthly SEO contract term is 3 months. For one-off work, we give the price and timeline in a quote before we start.
What the price depends on
- The number of pages and different page templates.
- The website platform and its version: WordPress, Joomla, WooCommerce or a custom system; whether it is still supported.
- Whether it's an online store with filters, product variants and pagination.
- How many duplicate and non-indexed pages have already built up.
- The number of language versions.
- Whether we have server access, or changes need to be agreed with your hosting provider.
Additional costs
- In-depth website speed work, template changes or a platform upgrade – €30 per hour, or under a separate quote.
- Licences for paid plugins – only with your consent; you pay according to the developer's price list.
- If the hosting is what's slowing things down, we can offer our own: from €60/year for websites, from €70/year for online stores.
Timeline
How long does technical SEO take?
On a company website, we fix the most important technical errors in the first month; for large online stores with filters, within 1–2 months. Google doesn't notice the changes straight away: pages are recrawled within a few days or weeks, and changes in rankings usually show after 3–6 months.
| Stage | What happens | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| Access and backup | Google Search Console, the website admin area and, if needed, the server | 1 working day |
| Technical check | crawl, indexing reports, speed, structured data | 2–5 working days |
| Fixes | redirects, duplicate pages, robots.txt, sitemap, template errors | 1–4 weeks |
| Post-fix verification | URL inspection in Search Console, sitemap submission, indexing monitoring | 2–4 weeks |

Examples
Typical projects
Our own website, Saitai.lt
- Situation
- After launching the new Saitai.lt website, we checked it the same way we check clients' websites. It turned out that the robots.txt file was blocking the sitemap URL, and the home page LCP on mobile was 3.6 s.
- Solution
- We fixed robots.txt so that search engine crawlers could reach the sitemap. We now serve visitors only the CSS they need, deliver images in WebP format, set up browser caching and cut down the icon font. We switched off a speed plugin we had tried: on the portfolio page, it loaded all 91 logos at once, pushing LCP up to 13.5 s.
- Result
- By our measurements, the home page LCP on mobile fell from 3.6 to 2.3 s, and the page weight from 1,105 to 520 KB. The PageSpeed Insights mobile score is 91 (7 October 2026). All 413 URLs respond without errors and each has a single H1 heading.
A Joomla website with duplicate pages
- Situation
- For example, on a Joomla website the same article is available at several URLs – via a category, a tag and a menu item – and Search Console reports duplicates without a user-selected canonical.
- Solution
- Consistent URLs, canonical URLs in the template, redirects for unnecessary URLs and their removal from the sitemap.
- Result
- One URL for each piece of content, and cleaner indexing reports.
The wrong language version shows up
- Situation
- For example, a company website has Lithuanian and English versions, but foreign customers see the Lithuanian page in search, and some of the English pages aren't indexed.
- Solution
- Language links (hreflang) between the versions, a canonical URL in each language, and all language pages in the sitemap.
- Result
- Pages in every language are indexed and shown to users of that language.
