Website design (web design)
Website design (web design) means creating the look and the usability logic of a website or online store: the page structure, a prototype, desktop and mobile layouts and a style guide for the interface elements. Saitai.lt designs around your brand and agrees the design with you before development starts. The price is based on the number of page templates, and when we build the website, the design is included in the package; the design stage usually takes 2–8 working days.
In short
- Price
- based on the number of page templates; included in the package price when we build the website; no VAT is added
- Timeline
- in a website project, the design stage takes 2–8 working days; longer with a prototype
- Included
- structure, home page and inner page design for desktop and mobile, style guide, revisions based on your feedback
- Prototype
- in the Premium package – a UX prototype before the design
- Who it's for
- new websites and online stores, redesigns, other companies' developers
- What we hand over
- layouts for review (PDF), icons and graphics (SVG, PNG), style guide
- Payment
- 50% upfront, the balance once the design is approved (when you order design only)
- Where we work
- remotely, all over Lithuania; meetings in Vilnius by appointment, arranged by phone
Who it’s for
- You're building a new website and want it to reflect your brand, not look like a popular template used by lots of other companies.
- Your website works, but the design is dated or no longer matches your new logo and brand identity.
- You have your own developer or IT company but no designer: you need layouts and a style guide for them to build from.
- You're building an online store, and it matters that the product page, basket and checkout are easy to use on a phone.
- Visitors struggle to find their way around your website: they can't find prices, contact details or the enquiry form, and you don't know how to restructure the pages.
- You need a landing page design for an advertising campaign that matches your banners and social media posts.
When it’s not the right fit
- All you need is a simple website in your colours. In that case, the Start package with an adapted template is enough – no separate design is needed.
- You don't have a logo or colours. It's worth creating a logo or brand identity first, and only then the website design – otherwise it will have to be redone.
- You need a design within 1–2 days with no back-and-forth. A good design needs an agreed structure, your feedback and at least one round of revisions.

What you get
Structure and content plan
Before designing, we draw up the page tree and the sequence of blocks on each page: where the offer, prices, answers to questions and enquiry form go.
Prototype (wireframe)
For larger projects, we prepare black-and-white schematics of the main pages and agree the layout and usability logic. Changing a schematic is quicker and cheaper than changing a finished design.
Design for desktop and mobile
Each page template is designed for two screen widths. We first agree the home page and one inner page, and only then design the rest.
Built around your brand
We use your logo, colours and fonts. If you don't have a brand identity, we choose the colours and fonts together with you, or suggest creating a brand identity (from €390).
Interface style guide
Buttons, form fields, headings, cards, icons and their states are documented in one place, so the developer doesn't have to guess and new pages look consistent.
Readability and contrast
We check text and background contrast, font size on phones and button size, so that the website is easy to use for older visitors too.
Icons and photos
We choose icons and edit and crop photos for the website, so that they share a consistent style and don't slow down page loading.
Handover to the developer
If we build the website, the design goes straight into development. If another company builds it, we hand over the layouts, the style guide and the graphics files.
Price
How much does website design cost?
Price from
€549
We quote the price of a standalone website design individually – based on the number of different page templates and whether a prototype is needed. When we design the website as part of building it, the design is included in the package price: custom design is part of the Business one-page website package (from €549) and the Business website package (from €899), and with a UX prototype, the Premium package.
Prices include all taxes – no VAT is added (we are not VAT-registered). The final price depends on the project: we write it and the timeline into the contract before work starts.
What the price depends on
- How many different page templates you need: home, service, catalogue, article, contact.
- Whether you need a prototype before the design.
- Whether you have a brand identity, or the colours and fonts need choosing from scratch.
- For an online store – how many screens you need: product list, product page, basket, checkout steps.
- Whether you need an icon set, illustrations or animations.
- Who will build the website: if another company, a more detailed style guide and prepared graphics files are needed.
Additional costs
- Website development – under our website development packages: one-page website from €399, business website from €499.
- Paid fonts or stock images – under their licences, if needed.
- Design changes after approval – €30 per hour, or under a separate quote agreed in writing.
Timeline
How long does website design take?
The website design stage usually takes 2–8 working days: first we agree the home page and one inner page, then design the rest. Design for larger websites with a prototype takes longer – we state the timeline in our proposal.
| Project | What we design | Design timeline |
|---|---|---|
| One-page website | a single page (up to 12 blocks) for desktop and mobile | 2–4 working days |
| Business website (up to 15 pages) | home page and inner page templates | 4–8 working days |
| Website with a UX prototype (Premium, up to 30 pages) | prototype, design, style guide | from 8 working days |
| Online store | home page, category, product, basket, checkout | depends on the scope |
Process
How it works
- Call and brief1–2 working days
We discuss your goals, customers, competitors' websites and what you like or dislike. If you already have a website, we look at where visitors run into difficulties.
- Structure and contract1–3 working days
We draw up the page tree and the sequence of blocks. The price and timeline are written into the contract, and we start work once we receive the 50% advance payment.
- Prototype2–5 working days
For larger projects – black-and-white schematics of the main pages, which we agree before the design.
- Home page and inner page2–5 working days
We design two pages for desktop and mobile and revise them based on your feedback.
- All templates and style guide1–4 working days
We apply the approved style to the remaining page templates and write up the interface style guide.
- Handover to development1 working day
The design goes to our developers or is handed over to your developer, together with the files and explanations.
Comparison

| Look | the same as other websites using that template | the template's layout with your logo and colours | designed around your brand and content |
| Structure | you fit your content to the template | you fit your content to the template | page templates are designed around your content |
| Prototype | none | none | in the Premium package – a UX prototype |
| Features | often lots of unnecessary features that slow the website down | as far as the template allows | only the elements you need are designed |
| Best for | a personal project or testing an idea | a small company that only needs a few pages | a company where the brand, enquiries or online sales matter |
Examples
Typical projects
Design for a company's own developers
- Situation
- For example, a company has its own IT team building a customer self-service portal, but no designer, so every screen looks different.
- Solution
- Design of the main screens for desktop and mobile, plus a style guide: colours, fonts, buttons, form fields and their states.
- Result
- A consistent interface that the developers build without guesswork, and a basis for new screens.
Online store design for mobile
- Situation
- For example, visitors to a WooCommerce store often abandon their purchase on mobile because the size and delivery price are hard to find on the product page.
- Solution
- A new mobile design for the product page, basket and checkout steps: clear size selection, delivery price next to the product, bigger buttons.
- Result
- Easier buying on a phone, and a design that can be implemented without rebuilding the whole store.
Website for an architecture practice
- Situation
- For example, an architecture practice wants a website where project photos come first, but all the templates it has looked at seem much the same.
- Solution
- A custom design with large project galleries, short texts and project filtering by type, agreed before development.
- Result
- A website that reflects the practice's style of work, and a structure that is easy to add new projects to.
