E-commerce SEO for online stores
E-commerce SEO means sorting out your categories, product pages, filters and technical structure so that your products appear in Google for the specific searches shoppers make, not just for your store's name. Saitai.lt optimises WooCommerce, VirtueMart and custom Laravel stores: we make the technical fixes ourselves and plan the work under monthly SEO plans. An e-commerce SEO audit costs from €99 and takes 5–10 working days.

Who it’s for
- Your store has hundreds or thousands of products, but visitors from Google mostly arrive by searching for your store's name.
- Google Search Console shows thousands of unindexed or duplicate pages, even though you have far fewer products.
- Your product descriptions come from the manufacturer's or supplier's XML file, so dozens of other stores have exactly the same text.
- Your category pages show only a product grid with no text, and competitors and price comparison sites rank for category searches.
- You're planning a store redesign or a move to another platform and don't want to lose search visitors.
- You pay for Google Shopping ads and want your products to appear in Google's free product listings too.
When it’s not the right fit
- Your store has a few dozen products and competition is low. Then the SEO basics set up when the store was built are enough, plus a one-off audit or the Start plan.
- Your prices or delivery terms are much worse than your competitors'. SEO will bring visitors, but they'll buy where it's cheaper or faster, so it's worth reviewing your offer first.
- You need sales within a few weeks. SEO usually shows results for a store after 3–6 months; for quick sales, Google Shopping ads are the better fit.
- Your store runs on a closed platform where templates, URLs or server settings can't be changed. Then we can carry out an audit and prepare recommendations, but the scope for fixes is limited.

What you get
Category structure based on searches
We arrange categories and subcategories to match how shoppers search (e.g. "20-inch kids' bikes"). For popular searches with no suitable page, we create separate categories.
Filters and duplicates
We decide which filter, sorting and pagination URLs get indexed and which don't (canonical URLs, noindex, robots.txt). That way search engine bots don't waste time on thousands of filter combinations and find new products sooner.
Product pages
We create a product title template (brand, model, key feature), write unique descriptions for your best sellers and sort out variants (colour, size) so they don't create duplicates.
Category texts and internal links
Each category gets a short text answering shoppers' questions, plus links to related categories and popular products. Depending on the plan, we prepare 2–4 texts a month.
Structured data
We add Product, Offer (price and stock) and BreadcrumbList data. We only show rating stars when they're based on genuine customer reviews.
Out-of-stock and discontinued products
Temporarily unavailable products stay on the website with a stock notice, while permanently discontinued ones are redirected (301) to the closest product or category – without hundreds of 404 errors.
Speed
We convert images to WebP, sort out caching and unnecessary plugins, and improve the Core Web Vitals of your category and product templates.
Merchant Center and analytics
We sort out your product feed in Google Merchant Center so your products appear in free product listings, and set up GA4 e-commerce events: you'll see which categories bring in sales from search.
Price
How much does e-commerce SEO cost?
Price
On request
The cost of e-commerce SEO depends on the number of products and the store's technical condition, so we plan the work under monthly SEO plans. Stores with hundreds or thousands of products usually suit the Premium plan – from €649/month – while smaller or niche stores suit Business at €349/month. You can start with an e-commerce SEO audit – from €99.
Prices include all taxes – no VAT is added (we are not VAT-registered). The minimum contract term is 3 months. The final price depends on the project: we put it in the contract before work starts.
What the price depends on
- The number of products, categories and product variants.
- How many filters and sorting options your store has, and how many duplicates have already got into Google's index.
- The platform, theme and plugins: WooCommerce, VirtueMart or a custom Laravel system.
- The state of your product descriptions: whether they're manufacturer texts or missing altogether.
- The number of language versions and the competition in your product category.
- Whether your product feed in Google Merchant Center needs sorting out.
Additional costs
- Extra texts, if you need more than the plan includes – from €29 per page; if you need lots of product descriptions, we quote for them separately.
- Larger technical changes (e.g. reworking the template or speeding up the store) – €30 per hour, or under a separate quote.
- Licences for paid SEO plugins – only when agreed with you, at the developer's prices.

Timeline
How soon will you see e-commerce SEO results?
Technical errors – filters, duplicates, redirects – are usually fixed within 1–2 months, but Google recrawls thousands of store pages gradually. Changes in visitors and sales from search usually show after 3–6 months, and in highly competitive product categories after 6–12 months.
| Period | What we do | What you can see |
|---|---|---|
| 1–2 weeks | audit, category and keyword map, work plan | a list of errors and priorities |
| 1–2 months | filters, duplicates, redirects, structured data, speed | fewer unindexed and duplicate pages in Search Console reports |
| 2–4 months | category texts, product title templates, internal links, Merchant Center | more impressions for category and product searches |
| 4–6 months and beyond | content expansion, best-seller descriptions, links | changes in clicks and sales from search in GA4 reports |

Comparison
Category, product or filter page: which brings shoppers from search?
| Page type | Searches it matches | What we optimise | When it's a priority |
|---|---|---|---|
| Category | general: "kids' bikes", "work boots" | title, a short text, internal links, filter settings | almost always – categories usually bring in the most visitors |
| Product | specific: model, brand, product code | title template, description, photos, Product data | when shoppers search for specific models or product codes |
| Filter page | a combination: brand plus category, colour or size | only the combinations people actually search for; the rest aren't indexed | when a combination gets lots of searches and has no category of its own |
| Buying guide or article | informational: "how to choose…", "what's the difference between…" | structure, a table, links to categories | when shoppers compare and ask AI assistants before buying |
| Home page | store name, general product area | title, links to main categories | rarely – it already gets the most links |
Examples
Typical projects
Products from a supplier's XML file
- Situation
- For example, a store imports 3,000 products every night from a supplier's XML file. The titles and descriptions are the same as in several other stores, so Google shows other websites.
- Solution
- A product title template based on how people search, unique descriptions for the 50–100 best sellers, and category texts. The import is set up so that it doesn't overwrite fields edited by hand.
- Result
- Unique content for the key products that survives every import, and a clear plan for the other product groups.
Seasonal products and 404 errors
- Situation
- For example, a store changes its collections every year and simply deletes the old product pages. Search Console shows hundreds of 404 errors, and external links to old products lead to broken pages.
- Solution
- Rules for out-of-stock and discontinued products: temporarily unavailable ones stay with a notice, discontinued ones are redirected to the new model or category, and permanent seasonal categories are never deleted.
- Result
- Fewer errors, retained link value, and categories that don't start from scratch in search every season.
Moving from VirtueMart to WooCommerce
- Situation
- For example, a store is moving from an old version of VirtueMart to WooCommerce, and its category and product URLs are changing.
- Solution
- A table of old and new URLs for every category and product, 301 redirects, migrated titles and descriptions, Product data and an updated product feed in Merchant Center.
- Result
- A migration with no lost pages, plus monitoring of search errors in the first months after launch.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Not always. Unique descriptions matter first for your best-selling and most expensive products and for categories; for the rest, a good title template and well-organised attributes are often enough. Writing thousands of descriptions by hand doesn't always pay off. Large volumes can be prepared from AI drafts, but we check dimensions, materials and other facts against the supplier's data.
